Day 1: Arrival in Bilbao
Flight to Bilbao. Arrival and welcome by our local host at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel Miró 4* (or similar) in Bilbao.

Day 2: Bilbao - Santander
Breakfast - Visit to Bilbao and the Guggenheim museum, one of the highlights of modern architecture. Later on, we leave to Santander. Diner and overnight stay in Hotel Bahia Santander 4* (or similar).

 

Day 3: Santander - Lakes of Covadonga - Santander
Breakfast - After breakfast we visit the lakes of Covadonga. This excursion is incredibly beautiful. The way curves among the green lowlands with little towns and their typical Estonian grain storages known as Hóorreos. Later on we visit the cathedral of Covadonga (19th century). The cathedral is build on the place where the Moorish domination got pushed back after a 718 years lasting invasion of Spain. Diner and overnight stay in Hotel Bahia Santander 4* (or similar).

 

Day 4: Santander - Burgos
Breakfast - Next we head to Burgo, one of the important stops for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. We bring a visit to the impressive Gothic cathedral (13th century) and the monastery 'La Cartuja'. In the afternoon there is some free time. Diner and overnight stay at hotel Rice Burgos 4* (or similar).

 

Day 5: Burgos - Leòn
Breakfast - Departure to Leòn. We visit the cathedral of Leòn, the episcopal headquarter of Leòn, dedicated to Our Lady of Regla. It was the first declared monument of Spain. In the afternoon we make a stroll through the city. Diner and overnight stay in Leòn NH Collection Leòn Plaza Mayor 4* (or similar).

 

Day 6: Leòn - Ponferrada
Breakfast - Departure to Ponferrada. It was the whereabout of the order of templars in the 12 century. Throughout the centuries, it could maintain its mysteriousness and esoteric. Places like Villa Franca del Bierzo and Medulas show you the most archeological wealth of Leòn. Diner and overnight stay in hotel AC Ponferrada 4* (or similar).

 

Day 7: Ponferrada - Santiago de Compostela
Breakfast - After breakfast we leave for the next destination; Santiago de Compostela. We see the end point of the 'Camino de Santiago' and the city of the holy Christianity. The highlight on this day will be the cathedral (with the crypt of apostle Santiago). Later on we will have dinner and our next overnight stay at hotel Tryp Santiago 4* (or similar).

 

Day 8: Santiago de Compostela
Breakfast - Today we will witness a religious ceremony in the cathedral of Santiago, where we will be part of an impressive incense ritual. In the afternoon there is some free time. Overnight stay in Hotel Tryp Santiago 4* (or similar).

 

Day 9: Santiago de Compostela - Porto
Porte, named after the famous wine, is one of the most beautiful places in Europe. We start our day in the Santa Catarina shopping street, with a stop in the impressive train station of Sao Bento and its 20 000 mosaic tiles. Later on we will also shortly pass by the integrating Café Majestic. Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel Novotel Porto Gaie 4* (or similar) in Porto.

 

Day 10: Porto - Home
Breakfast - Transfer to the airport of Porto and flight back home.
