From Barcelona to the coast

Day 1: Leaving to Barcelona
Flight to Barcelona - Arrival in the airport and welcome by our local host. Transfer and arrival in the hotel. Diner and overnight stay at hotel Arena 3* (or similar) in Barcelona


Day 2: Barcelona
Breakfast - Visit to Barcelona, the astonishing city of art, culture and beauty. Known for the great works of Gaudi, the museums, the shopping streets and of course football. We will stroll over the Ramblas up to the harbor and get amazed by the great street artist we will see among our way. The harbor 'Port Olimpic', known as Barceloneta, is the district of fisher man and sailors. In the Gothic borough we will have a refreshment in one of the numerous bars or we can enjoy the cosy stores. We will also visit 'Sagrada Familia', the most known building created by Gaudi. Diner and overnight stay at Hotel Aranea 3* (or similar) in Barcelona.

 

Day 3: Barcelona - Valencia
Breakfast - Today we continue to Valencia. There we will make a sightseeing and we'll visit Valencia by night. We visit the most important monuments of Valencia, like the cathedral, the central market with its typical architecture and so on. Diner and overnight stay in Hotel Renasa 3* (or similar) in Valencia.

 

Day 4: Valencia
Breakfast - Today we visit Valencia by feet and witness its interesting history. De blooming city has lots to offer. Don't forget to try the typical Paella from Valencia at noon at one of the numerous terraces. In the afternoon you have some free time to enjoy shopping or make a boat trip (not included). Diner and overnight stay in Hotel Renasa 3* (or similar) in Valencia.

 

Day 5: Valencia - Cartagena
Breakfast - Free morning. In the afternoon we continue towards Cartagena (region of Murcia). There you can find the town of Cartagena itself and its interesting history. Cartagena is part of the Roman empire and that had its influence for the town's name. You can find remainings and archaeological findings in good conditions. Diner and overnight stay in Hotel Carlos III Sercotel (or similar) in Cartagena.

 

Day 6: Cartagena
Breakfast - Visit to the most important monuments of Cartagena. With a local guide we visit the roman theatre and the 'Casa de la Fortuna'. Later there will be time as well to visit the archaeological museum. Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel Carlos III sercotel (or similar) in Cartagena.

 

Day 7: Cartagena - Granada
Breakfast - On the seventh day we head to Granada. One of the most interesting points in Andalucia. It is situated in the wake of Sierra Nevada. In the afternoon there is some free time to visit the historical part of the city. The cathedral and its Royal chapel can be visited as well, where lots of Catholic kings are buried and a lot of works of Flemish painters can be found. Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel Macia Monasterio de Basilios 3* (or similar) in Granada.

 

Day 8: Granada - Almuñecar
Breakfast - On the second day in Granada, we visit the Alhambra (included). It's a medieval palace/fort on the hills of the city, next to the gardens of Generalife, known as the second mansion of the sultans of Granada. Both monuments are remainings from the 781 year lasting Morish domination. Lunch**. In de afternoon we make a stroll through the picturesque Morish borough of Albayzin, situated against the hills on the opposite of the Alhambra. In the narrow little streets and the numerous squares you can always enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. Later we continue to Almuñecar where we have diner and our overnight stay at Hotel Helios 3* (or similar).

 

Day 9: Almuñecar
Breakfast - Free morning. In the afternoon we visit the Arab castle and the archaeological museum. Afterwards we will also head towards the touristic office. There you can find the botanical garden 'El parque del Majuelo'. There is no beter and of the tour as having a delicious local wine in one of the tapas bars you can find in Almuñecar. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay in Hotel Helios 3* (or similar) in Almuñecar.

 

Day 10: Almuñecar - Home
Breakfast - Free morning, followed by the transfer to the airport of Malaga for your flight back home. Depending from the flight schedule, you can have lunch in the hotel. If not, you can have a take away lunch.
